Scholz at consultations: direct dialog more important than ever

Chancellor Scholz and China's Premier Li appear particularly harmonious at the German-Chinese government consultations. Personal exchange and the joint fight against climate change are to become more important. Problems fall by the wayside, critical inquiries are even prohibited.

The government consultations are becoming less harmonious than under Merkel, but establishing contacts again is all the more important. Xi to Blinken: 'This is very good'

As part of his China trip, US Secretary of State Blinken also met with Chinese President and Party Leader Xi Jinping. While Xi appeared conciliatory, China's top diplomat Wang Yi remained uncompromising. Beijing intends to continue blocking all military-level contacts. Nevertheless, despite significant differences and various harsh accusations, the trip sends a constructive signal.
