The EU Anti-Coercion Instrument

The EU and US are continuously expanding their catalog of trade and investment measures. One of the latest additions is the EU’s Anti-Coercion Instrument, which will come into force in autumn 2023.

EU strategy: Brussels presents de-risking plan

The EU Commission wants to reduce its dependence on the People's Republic and is presenting its first all-encompassing strategy for economic security. However, only Competition Commissioner Vestager is open about the fact that Beijing is the focus of these efforts. One instrument in particular is likely to run into strong headwind among the member states.
