Dabei geht es um die Frage, ob US-Truppen in dem Land generell noch zeitgemäß sind. China kommt die Debatte gelegen. Auch wegen der Situation mit Nordkorea blickt Seoul vermehrt nach Peking.

China hat ein Plastikproblem. Überall liegt Müll herum, eine moderne Abfall- und Recyclingwirtschaft ist erst im Aufbau. Mit Bioplastik will Peking gegensteuern. Geplant sind gewaltige Produktionskapazitäten. Dabei ist der Nutzen von Biokunststoffen ohne industrielle Kompostierung begrenzt – und da fehlt es an Anlagen.
