Less investment: economists take a critical view of new EU debt rules

Member states and the European Parliament have agreed on new fiscal rules. Experts consider these better than the rigid old rules of the Stability and Growth Pact. Nevertheless, they could prevent the investments needed to achieve the climate targets.
