(No) new party ideology in the Communist Party

Economic reforms have long led to the dismissal of the ideologies of the Chinese Communist Party as insignificant or irrational. A risky misconception, says Dr. Carolin Kautz, China expert at the University of Goettingen. After all, the party under Xi Jinping is consolidating its central claim to power with enormous pressure to be loyal and digital indoctrination more than ever.
