What sounds like science fiction is now being pushed forward not only in China, but by carmakers worldwide. In China, however, the development pressure is the highest due to overcrowded cities.

Die chinesische Regierung hat sich mit dem 14. Fünfjahresplan das ehrgeizige Ziel gesetzt, eine stärker innovationsbasierte Wirtschaft zu schaffen. Bis 2050 will die Volksrepublik damit die Weltspitze in Wissenschaft und Technik erreichen. Dazu plant Peking unter anderem umfangreiche Subventionen für Forschung und Entwicklung in Unternehmen. Die kommende Veranstaltung der "Global China Conversations" am IfW Kiel widmet sich der Wirksamkeit dieser chinesischen Innovationspolitik.
