EU’s rule of law battle is now political

The other member states have hidden behind the EU Commission and the ECJ for too long, criticises Piotr Buras of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR). This has only served to swell the crisis of the rule of law in Hungary and Poland. Now it's up to the governments to resolve the conflict.

Rising CO2 prices: who will feel them

Since the beginning of November, CO2 prices in the European Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) have been rising rapidly. This week, the price per ton of CO2 exceeded €80 for the first time and is now almost at €90. It is the anticipated increase due to consistent climate policy, but not everyone is happy about it.
