Supply chain law: Member states aim for postponement.

After much pressure from the business community and the EPP, the member states want to postpone two controversial sustainability laws for companies. The supply chain law (CSDDD) is to be applied a year later, and the sustainability reporting directive (CSRD) is not to come into force until 2027.

Total Energies CEO: EU should conclude energy agreement with USA.

The head of French energy giant Total Energies is in favor of an energy agreement between the EU and the USA. The background to this is rising gas prices in the United States. Energy Commissioner Dan Jørgensen wants to keep US gas imports out of a potential trade conflict.

Electricity price zone: SPD open to division.

As a result of the coalition negotiations on energy policy, the Social Democrats want to examine splitting the electricity bidding zone. However, the CDU/CSU are against a split. They agree to redefine the areas of offshore wind farms in the North Sea together with other countries.
