Pesticide regulation and genetic engineering

In the dispute over the nature conservation package, Green Deal Commissioner Timmermans threatened the EU Parliament with a counter-blockade: he would withdraw the proposals for a recast of the EU genetic engineering law if no agreement was reached on the issue of pesticides. Environmental and consumer protectionists now fear deterioration on both sides.
