Germany is the European champion for subsidies

In the State Aid Scoreboard 2023, the EU Commission shows that Germany was responsible for around a third of all state aid paid out in the EU in 2022. Relative to economic strength, only Hungary spent more.

New seat distribution in European Parliament

The fixed seats in the European Parliament will be abolished. This is provided for in the reform of the Rules of Procedure, which was adopted in plenary on Wednesday. This implements the "Parliament 2024" reform agenda, which was developed in the working group headed by Rainer Wieland.
